Swimming. Fishing. Sleeping in a cabin. Eating in a mess hall. That's what camp is all about--and Flying Horse Farms is no different. Best of all, it’s designed with our campers’ unique physical, social, and psychological needs in mind.
Custom-fit for fun
From helping children in wheelchairs participate in the high ropes course to heating the pool for those sensitive to temperature change, we’ve designed every detail of the camp experience to include all children and to foster a sense of pride, accomplishment, and freedom.
All play, no work
Because campers spend much of their everyday lives in medical appointments and treatments, we deliberately shift the focus while they’re here. Instead of asking campers to leave an activity to take their medication, we bring it to them – whether they’re stringing beads or casting a line into the lake.
Whenever our campers are on site, our medical experts are there too. Physicians and staff from Ohio’s eight children’s hospitals and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh provide care and supervision to campers at our 24-7, WellNest. This state-of-the-art medical building is fully equipped to assist campers with their daily medical needs.
Free of charge
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, community partners, and volunteers, we host hundreds of campers and families each year at Flying Horse Farms–at no cost to the families.
